YOUNG EAGLES

The EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested young people, ages 8 - 17, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers. For more information about the program as a whole, please visit the Official Website

If you have an interested in aviation and have never flown in a general aviation airplane, EAA 66 welcomes the opportunity to introduce you to the wonderful world of aviation. We typically fly a dozen Young Eagle day the first Sunday of the month at our clubhouse where we also host a fly-in/pancake breakfast.

Registration forms, alongside with instructions, are located on the desk by the bathrooms. The instruction sheet also contains information about the Young Eagle Experience. Complete the form and return it to the Young Eagle coordinator. Flights are limited to introductory ride for children 8-17, but other parts of the programs can be enjoyed by all. While we like to and usually fly every Eagle that signs up, we cannot guarantee that everyone that signs up will get the opportunity to fly. Weather, as well as the number of airplane/pilot available, dictates whether Young Eagles will be able to fly.

Safety:

Once you are through the gate, drive directly to the clubhouse; airplanes have priority over cars, only drive through the stop sign if the area is clear. Parents must supervise and are responsible for their children at all times. You are requested to remain at or around the clubhouse at all times. A volunteer must accompany you if you want to look at airplanes across the road from the clubhouse. For insurance purposes, a coordinator must dispatch all flights.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
